The Royal College of Art (RCA), the world’s most influential university of design and art, and the Abraaj Group have launched the ‘Abraaj RCA Innovation Scholarship programme’, the largest international scholarship programme in the creative postgraduate sector
Each year for the next five years, Abraaj will support five outstanding individuals from across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Turkey and Central Asia to pursue a degree at the Royal College of Art. Each student will be enrolled full-time in Masters of Arts programmes in design and the arts, with their full tuition fees and living expenses paid for by the scholarship.
The first cohort of Scholars from India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Thailand, and Turkey begin their studies this month.
The mission of the Abraaj scholarship programme is to create a unique community of creative leaders. In return for the scholarships, students are expected to use the transformative powers of their RCA education to positively impact the life and culture of their home countries.
The RCA is the oldest and most influential postgraduate art and design university in the world, with a strong heritage of nurturing and inspiring generations of international artists and designers, including inventor Sir James Dyson, artists David Hockney and Tracey Emin and fashion designer and Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey.
The RCA offers the degrees of MA, MPhil and PhD across the disciplines of fine art, applied art, design, communications and humanities. Read more about the Royal College of Art, take a look at the courses on offer and contact the university for more information.
