London University Medal Success at the 2012 Olympics

Mo Farah with Usain Bolt

Students and alumni from London universities won 15 Olympic medals – more than Usain Bolt’s Jamaica! If London’s ten medal winning universities were a country they would have ranked 17th on the London 2012 Olympic Games medal table!

St Mary’s University College was top thanks to the superstar performances of their alumni Mo Farah, the winner of two Gold medals in the 5,000 and 10,000 metres.

Two more gold medals were claimed thanks to the successes of rower Anna Watkins, a PhD student at King’s College London, and kayaker Ed McKeever, a Kingston University graduate.
