With more students than any other city in Europe, London is an extraordinary place to visit and study.
Taking a summer course at Queen Mary enables you to experience London at the best time of year whilst gaining an enriching academic experience. Our Summer School puts you in charge of what you study and we want to give you the broadest possible intellectual experience possible. You can specialise according to your own interests, knowing that each session will be thought-provoking, challenging and exciting in equal measure. If you’d like to combine an interest in particle physics with your love of horror films, you can. With courses on art, culture, law, politics, physics and film there really is something for everyone – check them out!
We have 2 sessions of study on offer, so you really can build your own summer programme and combine your interests. Our session dates are:
Session 1: 25 June – 13 July 2018
Session 2: 16 July – 3 August 2018
During the summer months there’s a wide variety of events that take place in London’s wonderful green spaces or alongside the ionic River Thames. Queen Mary is situated in the heart of east London, an area with a rich history which is now one of the City’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan areas. The East offers contrasts unlike any other area of London, from the bustle of street markets to peaceful walks along Regent’s Canal and through Victoria Park, traditional pubs, museums and art galleries. During the Queen Mary Summer School you will have the opportunity to stay in our self-contained on campus accommodation. Our modern campus is a peaceful oasis in a busy city, set beside the Regent’s Canal, looking on to Mile End Park. It has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere: with plenty of greenery and attractive outdoor spaces here, so it’s easy to forget that you’re in the middle of a busy capital city.
