King’s College London Launches Major International Scholarship Programme for Law Students

Last week, King’s College London announced a major scholarship programme for its School of Law.

From 2013, up to 80 scholarships will be available to students from around the world: 75 for undergraduates, and five for PhD students.

The scholarship programme is the biggest for a law faculty in Europe and has been made possible after a record £20 million gift by Mr Dickson Poon CBE, a Hong Kong-based British philanthropist.

Of the 75 undergraduate scholarships available, 25 are worth full fees and 50 are worth £18,000 over three years. There are also five Law PhD scholarships available, worth £90,000 each over three years.

To benefit from this incredible opportunity, students will have to demonstrate outstanding leadership potential and ambition, as well as academic excellence.

In addition, 15 of the undergraduate scholarships offered will be specially reserved for residents of the People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong.

King’s is one of the oldest university institutions in the UK, and is ranked as one of the world’s top 25 universities. Its law school, The Dickson Poon School of Law, sits in the heart of London, surrounded by the British legal and political world including the Royal Courts of Justice and major international law firms.
