London, the best place to study performing arts

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018 confirmed London as the world’s leading city for top ranked universities. London’s universities feature amongst the best universities in the world in many of the subject categories, including in the Arts & Humanities, Life Sciences and Medicine, Accounting & Finance and Business & Management Studies, amongst others.

The Performing Arts category stands out in particular, with eight of London’s universities in the top 40:

Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (32nd)

Ranking Methodology

The QS World University Rankings by Subject cover 48 subjects with each of these scored based on four areas: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper and H-index (which relates to research impact). These four components are combined to produce the results for each of the subject ranking, with weighting adapted for each discipline.
