UEL and Malvern House join forces to deliver pre-degree courses for international students

The University of East London (UEL) has signed a partnership deal with independent education provider Malvern House International to deliver International Foundation and pre-sessional English courses for international students at the UEL Docklands campus in London.

Docklands Campus, University of East London

These pathway courses will develop the students’ English language skills and prepare them academically for university-level study. In 2018, the courses will be available at undergraduate level and from 2019, pre-masters courses will be added for postgraduate students.

Malvern House will deliver the new courses at UEL’s Docklands campus. Students taking the pathway course will be fully enrolled as UEL students, giving them the benefit of on-campus accommodation and access to all university facilities and services.

After completing the course, they will then be able to progress seamlessly to full degree-level study without having to apply for a new visa.

The International Foundation Year course applies to students who want to study an undergraduate degree at UEL but don’t have the academic or English Language skills required.

Students will be able to choose from modules in Mathematics for Engineering, Physical Science, Research and Study Skills and Global Business Environment.

The courses are available from September 2018, with a second intake starting in January 2019. The January cohort will continue their studies throughout the summer so that they can progress to their bachelor’s degree course in September of the same year.

The pre- sessional English courses are for prospective undergraduate or postgraduate students who do not meet the IELTS requirements at UEL. Courses range from 5 to 11 weeks, but students don’t have to apply for the courses separately. When you apply for your academic course at the university, you will be informed if you need a pre-sessional English course.

University of East London is one of the UK’s most diverse and fast-growing universities, with more than 28,000 students from 120 countries worldwide. For more information on the new pathway programmes, please visit: http://malvernhouse.com/uel-malvern-house-london/
