London’s universities feature amongst the best universities in the world in many of the subject categories, including in the Arts & Humanities, Life Sciences and Medicine, Accounting & Finance and Business & Management Studies, amongst others.
The Performing Arts category stands out in particular, with eight of London’s universities in the top 40:
Royal College of Music (2nd)

King’s College of London (40th)
London is home to numerous theatres, musicals, shows, exhibitions and music venues and events. As a performing arts student in London, you can really use London as your classroom. From established West End productions to experimental theatres, there are endless opportunities for you to enjoy, experience and get involved in London’s performing arts scene.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject cover 48 subjects with each of these scored based on four areas: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper and H-index (which relates to research impact). These four components are combined to produce the results for each of the subject ranking, with weighting adapted for each discipline.
