Spending your Christmas holidays in London

There are beautiful Christmas lights throughout the city and numerous events and seasonal activities are available to encourage Londoners and visitors to wrap up warm and explore. Whether you have family and friends visiting, or you want to explore London with your new friends, here are a few fun suggestions for the festive season.

The Christmas lights on Oxford Street and Regent Street are a special sight each year, and you will find many more festive lights throughout the city. Go Ice Skating skating

Wrap up warm, get your skates on and show off your ice skating skills to all your friends at one of London’s many ice rinks. There are some fantastic locations to choose from with ice rinks located in iconic areas such as Somerset House, the Natural History Museum and the Tower of London.

Explore Winter Wonderland winter wonderland

Experience the Christmas atmosphere at London’s Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. This event includes a host of Christmas-themed fun and activities, including shows, an observation wheel and a huge Christmas market. If you’re a thrill-seeker, there are plenty of rides for you to try out.

Sing Christmas Carols in Trafalgar square carols

The world-famous Christmas tree at Trafalgar square (an annual gift from Norway since 1947), provides the backdrop for a special recital of classics from the Christmas carol book. Join in the singing or simply observe and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
