If you’re looking for a memorable way to use your summer then Imperial College London have a programme line-up that will surely deliver.

You will spend the first of two weeks getting a taster into how Imperial are working to meet some of the world’s biggest challenges. Talks from experts across a range of disciplines – including global heath, computing and data science, robotics, business modelling and environmental science – will help to bring these topics to life by drawing on live case studies and introducing you to some of their latest innovations.

You’ll also tap into the spirit of entrepreneurship that ripples across the College by meeting members of Imperial’s community who have successfully launched their research discoveries into the commercial world.

This is complemented by a walking tour around the Tech City UK – the UK government backed initiative aimed at turning London’s East End into a world-leading technology city to rival California’s Silicon Valley.

In week two, prepare to have the tables turned back on you as you will be challenged to show us your ideas. You’ll work in teams to come up with your own solutions to a challenge set by Imperial, building to a group presentation on the final day.

Don’t worry, as this will still be part of the learning experience, so this is complemented by workshops focusing on the key skills you’ll need to ace this task, including problem solving, design communication, presentation skills.

You’ll also have the chance to delve further into the world of design with a visit to London’s Design Museum.
