Study London’s top arrival tips

Welcome to London! Now that you’ve arrived, there are only a few last steps before you can explore everything the city has to offer.

Enrol with your university

Don’t forget to register with your university as soon as you arrive.

Make sure you attend the registration event at the date and time your university has given you, and bring your passport as your university needs a copy. Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll be given your library card, and you can request a letter confirming your student status for any administrative requirements, such as opening a bank account.

Attend a welcome event

Sign up to one of your university’s new international student welcome events. This is a fantastic way to meet people and to find all the information you need.

If you can’t attend, visit your university’s international office, which can provide you with information on university life, the campus and the local area.

Explore your adoptive city

Now that you’re settled, it’s time to discover your new home, London.

Explore the capital’s 32 boroughs, including eclectic areas in central and outer London.

Whether you’re interested in art, want to learn about the city’s history or sample its hundreds of cuisines, there’s so much to do in the capital.

Also keep an eye on what’s on in London, including exciting annual festivals, sporting events and West End theatre shows.
