Why did you choose to study MSc Entrepreneurship Finance & Innovation at Loughborough University London?
I always wanted to pursue a degree in Entrepreneurship and searching for a master’s course in this subject, I stumbled upon Loughborough University amongst many others. I chose this University as its highly rated for its student experience. Also, the course endorsed a good spilt between theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
The Loughborough University London campus is a masters level campus. This provides me with access to industries and makes the student experience fun.
What do you enjoy most about your course?
The student cohort is a highly diverse one and that enhanced my student experience here. The innovative ideas and creativity amongst students from various ethnicities and backgrounds makes the course very engaging.
It has been a real learning curve for me. Writing essays instead of exams, working on more collaborative, cross-culture projects and delving into practical case studies have added a lot of skills and value to my profile as a candidate.
How would you describe London in three words?
Chilly. Welcoming. Diverse.
Are you working alongside your studies?
Yes, I work as a student ambassador with Loughborough University London. This has helped me in developing public relations skills along with writing skills (e.g. blogs, articles etc.). It has also facilitated more connections with fellow students, potential students, alumni and faculty staff members.
I also worked as a business buddy with The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network. I was mentoring a refugee entrepreneur in setting up his business and gaining traction for it. This experience honed my mentorship and leadership skills and I gained practical exposure to the start-up culture in London.
What are your plans after graduating?
After graduating, I would like to work as a product manager in London and build innovative software.
Do you have any advice for other students thinking about studying in London?
Firstly, get a lot of winter clothes and be prepared for any weather variations!
Secondly, research and accept cultural diversity and enjoy its benefits.
And, thirdly, see London as a land of opportunities and possibilities.
